Case of study. Irrigation system of the model proposal per 100 has in the south of the country

And because he also said «It is now that it is a rainy year and they will have a good production, they can think of investing in irrigation, which perhaps in the year will not be like this«, I asked him to present a case of study, a dimension that he recently conducted, for a concrete situation, with which, those who are interested, are convinced that there is nothing too difficult and too expensive when a specialist puts his experience and knowledge in finding a problem.

Preliminary information

Where: Southern Romania (Bărăgan)

The irrigation surface: 100 has (including rapeseed this autumn this year)

Access to water: Farmer member of the organization of water users for irrigation, with access to water from irrigation channels.

Special mentions: The farmer asked to be taken into consideration that he cannot leave the equipment unattended on the field, due to frequent iron thefts.

Following the discussions and results after the movement of the field were determined:

  • The graphs are positioned near the irrigation channels;
  • The longest plot is 600 meters;
  • There is no obstruction on none of the graphs;
  • The area is located in an area with a good GSM signal;
  • Some graphs are irregular;
  • Some plots will be grown with corn;
  • The customer wants high efficiency equipment;

Solution /proposal:

Following the analysis of the customer's requirements, we proposed as a solution

  • Two Vir7/1m 120-620 drums with built-in motor pump, coupled with
  • Two 4 -wheeled irrigation ramps, Briggs, Model R76, one with the 3.1 m hydraulic elevation option for corn culture and the second with manual water cannon on the central tower, for irregular graphics.

The advantages of the proposed system:

  • Mobility, the entire system can be stored in the farm courtyard once the irrigation is finished; Nothing remains on the field 👉 Low risk of theft;
  • The system does not require pipes of transfer of underground pipes, the water is extracted directly from the canal and passes through the drum directly to the irrigation ramp 👉 facilitated by exploitation and risk of low theft;
  • The drums are equipped with the winding speed control computer 👉 greater efficiency;
  • The drums are equipped with a web control device and smartphones, which provides control and monitoring in real time of equipment 👉 with low risk of theft and possibility of remediation in case of non -operation, immediately after the failure occurrence;
  • The ramps are equipped with fine appearance nozzles that cover a width of 84 meters 👉 ideal for irrigating the crops just sown, by germination and increase; These nozzles can be easily changed (in 5 minutes) with aspects of aspects with larger drops, ideal when evaporation is high during the summer, covering a width of 96 meters; With each drum it is possible to cover an area of ​​14.5 ha/day, at the dose of 10 l/m2 or 7.5 ha/day at the dose of efficiency and uniformity of 20 l/sqm
  • The irrigation ramp with adjustable height up to 3.1 meters can be used in corn, when it reaches high heights 👉 height of the corn;
  • The irrigation ramp with water cannon can be used on irregular graphs, in a bent position 👉 irregular graphics, maximum coverage of the graphs;
  • The irrigation ramps have plastic nozzles, non -metal with a low risk of theft;

Cost (approx): 200,000 euros

An alternative:

The customer was presented and the variant cheaper of the system but with a Low efficiencyUsing classic water cannons instead of watering the ramps, the cost of this system is approximately 125,000 euros.

This system theoretically covers the same surface of the irrigation ramps, but with an efficiency of 60% compared to that of ramps, 85%.

Disadvantages To this system:

  • Rapid formation of the soil crust, due to the high drops in the irrigation period after sowing /germination,
  • the evaporation rate much higher during the summer,
  • low uniformity watered in wind conditions,
  • More combustil consumption per motorhomp (from+40% to 1,000 operational hours),
  • The need to return to the irrigated soil more often, due to low efficiency.

In addition, financing options through Mewi was also presented to the customer, specific for irrigation equipment, in order to help, if desired, as regards the financial effort.
