The Carmistin group supports the «Libearty» sanctuary, the largest animal welfare project, located in Zărne and started by the «Millions» Animal Protection Association. Through the «Liberty» project, over 100 brown bears have been saved from captivity and brought to the sanctuary, where they benefit from food, space, medical care and affection.

The sanctuary of Zărneōti

The sanctuary of Zărneōti appeared in 2005 and currently has 69 hectares of the forest of oak, a natural environment in which brown bears are free to climb, run and live as they should.

In the sanctuary of Zărneōti lives 106 bears saved by a tormenting life in captivity. These animals underwent abuse, lived in rusty cages, without space, with cold cement under the soles instead of in green grass. Arriving in the sanctuary, many bears did not know how to climb a tree, enjoy a dandruff or hide from the heat.

Most of them were used as a tourist attraction, held behind bars, on the terraces of restaurants, hotels, pensions or petrol stations.

The bears of the Sanctuarul Zărne, in addition to the nightmare, also had a poor and totally inadequate diet, which was why they arrived in the sanctuary in a state of bad health, to which, in many cases, older injuries caused by the abuses they have crossed are added.

The Carmistin group periodically offers food for bears in the sanctuary, they need quality food in optimal quantities, to recover and reach ideal weight and health.

Chicken meat is part of bears nutrition and is an important element to guarantee a balanced diet. Carmistin gives a significant amount of chicken meat needed for linked friends.
